My adoration of antique jewelry led me to create the Incarnations collection. More than adore, I am intrigued and sometimes captivated by it. Creating something new out of something old bridges the gap of yesteryear, present day and the future, bringing new life to each locket. As I design each unique piece, I wonder about the original owner... the life she led, the people she loved to wear close to her heart, and the memories held there. Every once in awhile, I come across a locket with faded, sepia photos still enclosed, a time capsule of sorts. I gently remove the images of people of another time, a small pile of families by my side. My heart skips a beat when I find a locket worn and dented with wear. When I look closely I see that the dents are the indentions of tiny teeth and I realize that this locket was an object of comfort for a small child... How lovely is that? There are few greater joys than this. To those of you who share my romantic thoughts and daydreams, we can keep something close to our hearts that has been in the past, and will be in the future a symbol of everlasting love.
